Purpose:

The Board provides comprehensive health services to ngā uri o Raukawa, which encompass child, tamariki, rangatahi, pakeke, and Kaumatua services. These services promote healthy lifestyles through a range of activities and encourage active participation in ones own health. Improved access and the potential to build complementary services will be a critical pathway to improving the health status of Raukawa. 
 

Activities:

Health services

 
Well Child
Provides education on child development, support to families/whanau/caregivers, and health checks to 0-5year olds by a Registered Nurse with the assistance of kaiậwhina.
School Based Service
Working with schools, families and GP‘s developing health plans for children, and improving access to quality health services.
Rangatahi         
Providing health education and promotion activities to rangatahi, around improving and maintaining healthy lifestyles.
Sexual Health
Provision of education and support to Education providers and other services in relation to sexual health issues. To coordinate Free contraceptives and checks to under 25 via GP and Pharmacies.
Rangatahi Mental Health
Community based support service for tamariki, rangatahi and whanau rehabilitation and employment. that promotes a strength based approach to well being through education and support under a kaupapa Maori framework.
Child & Adolescent Mental Health
 
Community based support service for tamariki, rangatahi and whanau that promotes a strength based approach to well being through education and support under a kaupapa Maori framework
Drug & Alcohol
Provision of Drug & Alcohol assessments, education programs, Violence prevention programs, counselling and 30A assessments
Residential Drug & Alcohol
Provides a community based alcohol and drug assessment, treatment and consultation service based on a kaupapa Maori framework. Waka Taua Wellness Program “Te Timatatanga” An eight-weekend program that is based on the holistic philosophy of wairua, tinana, hinengaro and whanau.
Outreach Nurse
South Waikato Service that provides health care to clients in remote areas through early identification, and intervention of health needs.
Kaumatua Kuia Service
Providing health education and promotion activities to Kaumatua Kuia, around improving and maintaining healthy lifestyles.
Maori Disability
Improving access to disability support services through the provision of information, support, advice and guidance to families/whānau with disabilities.
Homebase Support Service
Professional care givers who provide personal care and general home duties to the elderly.
Kia piki te ora – All aged suicide prevention
Prevents risks associated with suicide related harm through population-based initiatives.
Oral Health
A health prevention strategy that aims to prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes by delivering a “healthy lifestyles package”
Maori Mobile Nurse
A family/whānau centred health promotion, education, assessment, early detection and health care planning for those with diabetes, heart disease and respiratory problems.
Mirimiri Service 40+
Utilises Mirimiri and rongoa to improve the health of Koroua and Kuia.
Public Health
Provision of services that promote the health and well being of the population through the implementation of projects that support the well being of a community.
Chronic Care Management
Self management programme for clients with Diabetes
